For me it's usually the other way around, my cat will seek me out and smoosh up against me when I'm not expecting it. It's most welcome though when I'm outside and suddenly there's a rustling or crunching sound and this face followed by the rest of my cat will come squeezing out of the tall grass and then come running over to me to check out what I'm doing. He's like "Hey! You're outside! Why wasn't I notified! I refuse to miss out on adventures! Also....there's other cats around so I must ensure you are not cheating on me." XDXDXD

XD Well, I doubt it was all YOUR doing, they do have a way of running out in front of you at the oddest times or purposefully tripping you just to get some attention or yes bumping you by encroaching on your space first. I had a favorite kitty who would always hop up in the space between my back and the back of my computer chain when I learned over to type and then stay smooshed there for long periods of time so I couldn't lean back, all the while she was purring away. XD

It’s funny, you would expect a cat to lash out violently if you bumped into them by accident (and sometimes they do for sure), but most of the time the cat is just as surprised as you are and it’s an awkward moment!
